Implementation Engineer

Your main responsibilities as an IP and VPN Implementation Engineer will involve: * Troubleshooting and providing support during the implementation phase * Resolving support issues over the phone or via email for end users and local engineers * Providing remote support during upgrades, migrations, and cessations * Resolving problems in a multi-vendor, multi-technology environment, including customer issues as needed * Being available for planned activities after hours and at the weekend as needed * Creating implementation manuals, job aids, and process documents * Supporting the implementation of new processes and participating in Alpha and Beta trials and User Acceptability Testing * Tutoring new team members and working on conflict resolution in the team Your skills and qualifications as an IP and VPN Implementation Engineer will ideally include: * Broad based IT knowledge and a familiarity with UNIX and Windows operating systems * An in-depth understanding of network fundamentals; the OSI Model, and TCP / IP Familiarity with current LAN, MAN, and WAN technologies * English and Swedish language skills to a business standard * Multi-cultural understanding, the ability to work with people of different backgrounds; ethnically, socially, and technically * Confident in troubleshooting issues associated with connectivity, throughput, and network equipment operability, and the ability to utilize a wide range of technologies and problem resolution skills to identify failing components in complex design scenarios * A working knowledge of the following: Routing (BGP), and TCP / IP protocols; Switched Ethernet, and VLAN technologies, Serial WAN interfaces, DSU / CSU, PPP, and T1 / T3 protocols; VPN technologies and Network Firewalls; Network management tools (SNMP, RMON) and packet analysis; configuring Cisco CPEs, including serial interfaces, access lists, and VPNs * Cisco certification ( CCNA, CCNP, CCIP ) or equivalent experience desirable * Experience with Nortel Contivity Switches an advantage * Knowledge of communication standards like ATM, FR, SONET / SDH and ISDN and remote access servers or VPN switches experience beneficial * Knowledge of Radius Server concepts and VPN remote access user authentication desirable What we will be looking for in you: With a customer focused and excellent written and verbal communications skills, as an IP and VPN Implementation Engineer[you will be able to effectively communicate complex information to technical and non-technical staff.You will possess strong analystical skills, and maintain a professional service delivery at all times to represent the business.
