Position description
Mälardalen University invites applications for the post of In-house Translator to join our Communications team.

As MDH's translator, you will be responsible for the University's official English translations and language reviews. MDH has British English as its official standard and our translator is an expert on the University's use of the English language.

Colleagues throughout the University can order translations both from Swedish to English and from English to Swedish and you will be responsible for delivering translations of the highest quality and accuracy on time. The work covers a large variety of texts, for example policy documents, web texts, programme- and course syllabuses, information for staff and students, marketing material, press and PR material, research presentations, research applications and scientific articles. You will also work with language reviews and proofreading of English-language documents and give advice to colleagues on the use of the English language.

Qualification requirements

• Certified translator or professional translator with native or near-native English language skills and many years of solid professional experience of translation.
• Degree in translation or any other relevant combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience in translating complex texts, for example in higher education and research.

You will work at the Section for Communication and External Relations, which is part of the University's administration. We are responsible for the University's internal and external communication, national and international student recruitment, brand and media contacts as well as external relations such as career markets, mentoring programmes, strategic agreements and fundraising. You will report to the Group Manager for Campaigns and Projects.
