Inbound Supply Chain Manager

Your mission
In this position, you work collaboratively across all Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) divisions, being the Global Category Manager, you’re responsible for SMS global solid carbide blanks sourcing and you will become familiar with Sandvik's other distinct brands and the products we offer. By close collaboration with our SRT organization, you set processes to enable our strategic direction. Driving the strategy for internal and external supply, you take lead in evaluations, supplier selection, negotiations, and creation of agreements and strategic forecasting. Keeping up with stakeholders' demands and crucial legislation on an international level, you guarantee alignment with Sandviks’ Code of Conduct, and other mandatory sustainable processes towards the suppliers in the scope. You build a broad international network and many points of contact, spanning from internal stakeholders to external global suppliers.
With your strong business knowledge, you evaluate and judge our best setup based on cost and risk, always with sustainability in mind. You’re constantly on the lookout for synergies that gain competitive advantages and investigating how economic trends and shifting market dynamics could affect us. You lead the Category in areas of responsibility, keeping the category together, collaborating, and sourcing projects with cross-functional teams. You proactively build and exchange expertise, gathering business insights for the future to reach common business targets and create coordinated plans for business growth. The role also includes driving efficiency, define targets, and follow up the solid carbide blanks supply chain.
The job location for this position is flexible within Europe, preferably in Sweden. You report to the Head of Global Supply Chain – Solid Round Tools, based in Sandviken. International travel is a natural part of the position during normal circumstances.
Your profile
We’re looking for a senior determined and focused professional with broad experience in the field. Ideally, you’ve been working over ten years in a global setting, managing a wide supplier network, combined with a record of accomplishment including category driven purchasing and knowledge of product management, sales or finance. You know how to negotiate around these types of agreements, and you’re used to closing deals and managing multiple stakeholders. It’s mandatory to have experience in round tools or powder production. And a background from manufacturing industry and the area of metal cutting is beneficial. Your knowledge is supported by a relevant degree within Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Economics or similar. Our corporate language is English, so we expect excellent written and verbal skills, and for this specific role, German is advantageous.
