or M.D.degree and are expected to have a record of outstanding and internationally recognized research accomplishments in the areas of Molecular and Cellular Biology.Studies focusing on the understanding of disease mechanisms are particularly meriting.Umeå Centre for Molecular Medicine, UCMM, <www.umu.se/ucmm> is a centre with a strong focus on understanding molecular mechanisms of disease.The centre integrates molecular, cellular, and developmental biology with transgenic approaches and functional genomics.The centre is located at Umeå University close to both basic biomedical and clinical research departments and offers a stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment.UCMM and Umeå University provide state-of-the art communal service facilities, including an Animal House, a Transgenic Mouse Service Facility, a Gene Array Facility, Cell Sorting, and Bio Optics.
