Join us as an Indirect Commodity Buyer and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Purpose of the Job
As an Indirect Commodity Buyer you will be responsible for deploying the commodity strategy for its assigned commodities and ensure project execution in line with QCDT objectives (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Technology). You will manage the relationships and negotiations with suppliers, pilot the utilization of supplier panel and secure the supplier performance.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supplier relationship:
Support global supplier panel relationship.
Manage relationships with the suppliers (negotiations, specific agreements, local supplier performances).
Monitor day to day suppliers’ performances and issues.
Create close connections with suppliers through providing quality work within the given timelines.
Manage the initial issues before escalation to line managers.
Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Commodity support on site:
Consolidate the commodity needs and inputs.
Participate pro-actively to commodity strategy and panel elaboration.
Propose improvement ideas when needed.
Offer support for the Commodity Manager in tender phase.
Represent the commodities towards projects, platforms and solutions.
Improve the internal customers and stakeholders relationship in problem solving contexts.
Apply the Alstom Sourcing process and provide return on experience.
Involvement in projects:
Coordinate projects with all Metiers.
Prepare and launch the Request For Quotation with suppliers using the standard tools.
Lead project negotiations.
Monitor evolution of the project QCDT and Legal project evolution (FAI, Business Award, Product development).
Ensure work package sheet commitment.
Prepare Business Award.
Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Key requirements:
Fluent in English.
Work in an international environment.
Business School or Engineering School or Master in Purchasing
Medium experience in the area of specialization
Experience with Microsoft Excel processes.
Strong negotiation skills.
Strong communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
