About Us:
Volvo Car Group has a complex business with a broad variety of issues in the area of VAT and Indirect Taxes. The VAT and Indirect Tax function consist of five persons and has a global responsibility for VAT and Indirect Tax matters securing a correct, tax efficient and compliant VAT and Indirect Tax reporting within the group through continuous contact with internal and external functions as well as in projects.

To support our commercial transformation and Global Online Business, we are now looking for a person with strong knowledge about VAT and Indirect Tax who wants to be part of an active group in a dynamic environment. The position reports to Group Tax. 

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for taxes in Global Online Business in the European markets. You will be part of commercial discussions to make sure we define customer offers that are optimal and correct from a tax perspective. Further, you need to ensure that our systems handle tax correctly and you will be working closely with our Product Owners and operational teams, e.g. related to customer billing, market specific governmental benefits and car taxes. When we need external support from tax advisors or tax authorities, you handle the communication and drive those projects.

Specifically, you will:
•    Be responsible for how to handle consumer and car taxes in Global Online Business (GOB);
•    Keep track of outstanding indirect tax questions and their next steps/status in various matters, e.g. queries to external consultants, requests to tax authorities etc.;
•    Investigate indirect tax questions for the respective market;
•    Project lead indirect tax initiatives, e.g. VAT change in DE, from a process and system perspective;
•    Provide digital requirements related to indirect and car taxes;
•    Proactively work with GOB Commercial and Pricing teams on the optimal set up of the customer offer, e.g. related to incentives;
•    Yearly review indirect and car tax changes in the respective market.

You will build expertise within the Indirect Tax area, develop in functional leadership and continue to grow your understanding of the automotive and Volvo Cars business.

Your Skills:
We believe you have a University degree in Law or Finance, or equivalent, combined with around 5 years of experience working with indirect taxes e.g. from large companies, Tax Agency, audit firm or similar experience. You have experience in global online consumer business with several markets. You have good knowledge in Tax, Finance and Accounting, and knowledge of finance system functionality, having previously worked with ERP. You are fluent in English, verbal and written.
