We are looking for an experienced Executive Chef with expertise in South Indian cuisine to lead our kitchen team, enhance our culinary offerings, and help us maintain and elevate our standards.
Job Overview
As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations, from menu creation and ingredient sourcing to staff training and kitchen management. You will be the culinary leader, responsible for upholding the authenticity of our dishes while introducing innovative, seasonal menu items to keep our offerings exciting. Your role will involve collaborating with management to deliver exceptional dining experiences while ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and high-quality food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development: Design and refine the menu, focusing on traditional South Indian dishes and incorporating seasonal and regional ingredients to keep offerings fresh and innovative.
Ingredient Sourcing: Work with suppliers to source authentic, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on both local and imported products that meet our standards.
Quality Control: Ensure every dish meets our standards for taste, presentation, and authenticity. Perform regular quality checks and provide feedback to the kitchen team.
Kitchen Management: Oversee all kitchen operations, including inventory management, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
Staff Training & Supervision: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure they adhere to recipes, cooking techniques, and food safety standards. Foster a collaborative and motivated kitchen environment.
Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with the front-of-house team to understand customer feedback, resolve any culinary-related issues, and ensure guests have a memorable dining experience.
Hygiene & Compliance: Ensure the kitchen complies with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times, performing routine checks to maintain the highest standards.
Innovation & Seasonal Specials: Develop seasonal specials and new items that retain the essence of South Indian cuisine while appealing to local palates and trends.

Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef, specializing in South Indian cuisine. Proven track record in a high-quality restaurant setting is essential.
Culinary Expertise: In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, spices, and traditional dishes (e.g., dosa, sambar, biryani, and various South Indian curries).
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse kitchen team.
Organizational Abilities: Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills to oversee a dynamic kitchen environment and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
Creativity & Adaptability: Passion for culinary innovation, with a willingness to adapt and tailor dishes to the local market without losing authenticity.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English; fluency in Hindi or a South Indian language (e.g., Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam) is a plus.
Educational Background: Formal culinary training or equivalent hands-on experience in South Indian cuisine is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in international settings or with multicultural teams.
Familiarity with Scandinavian or European food regulations and hygiene standards.
Certification in food safety and hygiene.
