We are looking for an industrial design engineer for the Global R&D function, Power Wheelchair Development.
The Chassis Development Department in Power Wheelchair Development are responsible for delivering attractive designs and technical solutions for our customers as well as supporting our production sites and other departments. As an industrial design engineer, you will be a part of our team, working on cross functional development projects creating market leading products for our users.
The position is located in Timrå.
Your role - Key responsibilities
As an industrial designer, you will work closely with development engineers, project managers as well as other designers on cross functional projects developing user friendly products with high quality suitable for production and assembly. The position involves visual design, product development and documentation of new products as well as enhancing and maintaining the existing product range. To succeed in the role, you must be curious about our users, care about the user feedback and have a user-centered mindset.
As Permobil is a medical device company we value your ability to work with technical requirements traceable to user needs and can prove that the design performs as intended. You document this in easy to read plans and reports that complies with internal and external regulations.
As an industrial design engineer, you will:
Develop new design solutions and perform concept studies for future products.
Incorporate latent user needs into the product design.
Conceive elegant, effective ways to address ergonomic and mechanical challenges, while keeping design to value principles in mind.
Always have the user need in mind and find solutions to meet their expectations.
Document the development work according to our quality process.
Your profile - Qualifications
University degree (Master or Bachelor) in industrial design.
A few years of experience of working as a product designer
You have experience from 3D Cad (Solid works or similar) and photo editing software, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
Portfolio that shows your previous work.
Good communications skills in both Swedish and English.
