Who we are
Volvo Group Design is the design function for the Group’s brands and business areas. The team provides design to products, digital solutions and services from the three studios located in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lyon, France and Greensboro NC, US. We cover all design aspects of all products within our business areas; Volvo Trucks, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus, and Volvo Energy. How you will make an impact
As an Industrial Designer you will participate in a variety of projects, transforming complex requirements into functional, human-centric design solutions for the future. You will work close together with your new colleagues in our multi-disciplinary design team. Our canvas spans over all areas of a wide range of products, in all the different phases of the development process, to bring premium products and services to the market. We are facing a growing focus on circularity and sustainability in our design work and we are part of the exciting journey implementing cutting edge technologies such as electromobility, connectivity and automation into, not only trucks, but all our products. The industrial designers are key in our departments capability to innovate and create attractive design solutions for the future competitiveness of Volvo products and services. Your hold a strong sense of form combined with a deep focus on customers, which helps you create premium looking products that are functional and cost-efficient. You adapt to different situations with ease and are great at working together with others. You attack challenges with an open mind and have the possibility to come up with creative and outside-of-the-box-solutions, that fits inside the box, packaged and communicated in a clear and inspiring way. You are all about getting things done, always striving for high standards in what you do. You are good at organizing things and finding patterns, even in complicated situations. You love learning and are always looking to understand things better. You are a team player who finds joy in supporting and motivating your colleagues.

Requirements
• Strong and versatile use of professional design tools for visualization, ideation, and conceptual 3D modeling.
• Bachelor or Master of Fine Arts in Industrial Design, Product Design, and/or Transportation Design.
• Familiarity with a customer centric design process, to reach accurate and user-friendly design deliveries for the Volvo brand with outstanding design quality.
• Ability to build partnerships and networks.
• Being a team player. Contribute to the creative environment within the team of industrial designers, and collaborate efficiently with the key players from the other project functions, within and outside of the design studio.
• Automotive-, consumer product-, or B2B industry experience is a merit.
• Fluent in English.
• Location in the Gothenburg area, to participate and contribute to the inspirational environment in the studio.
