We are seeking a passionate and creative Industrial Designer to join our team, specializing in consumer goods tailored for outdoor enthusiasts. As an Industrial Designer with a strong connection to the outdoors, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing products that empower adventurers to explore the world. Your design expertise and love for the outdoors will be at the core of our mission to create innovative, high-quality products.
Location: PRIMUS-SILVA AB head office in Bromma, Stockholm.
In the role of Industrial Designer/Product Designer...
you will be part of the PRIMUS product development team, currently consisting of four product developer with strong knowledge and experience and you will report to the PRIMUS R&D Manager. You will have the opportunity to complement this team with your design expertise. Your focus will be on generating new ideas together with the team and bringing them to life to enhance our existing products and create new ones.
Our development processes span a two-year period from inception to finished product, where design plays a significant role in product development. In your role as a designer, you will either participate in product development projects or lead your design project from start to finished products.
Some of your exciting areas of responsibility will include:
Conceptualize and Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design PRIMUS products that exemplify innovation, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, while addressing the unique needs of outdoor enthusiasts.
End-to-End Product Development: Take part in the product development process from idea to manufacturing, ensuring that the products meet performance, quality, and durability standards, as well as designing packaging solutions that protect and present the product effectively.
User-Centered Design: Conduct user research to gain insights into the outdoor community's preferences and behaviors, ensuring that both product design and packaging design are tailored to meet their needs and expectations.
Prototype Development: Create physical and digital prototypes to test and refine both product and packaging designs, integrating feedback from real-world usability tests.
Branding and Aesthetics: Develop designs that not only reflect our brand identity but also resonate with outdoor enthusiasts, creating a strong emotional connection with our products and packaging. And drive the evolution of PRIMUS overall product design language and sustain through developing and updating our product design guidelines.
CAD Proficiency: Utilize 3D modeling and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create comprehensive design specifications and drawings for both products and packaging.
Materials and Sustainability: Stay informed about materials and manufacturing techniques, striving to incorporate sustainable design practices that minimize environmental impact throughout the product and packaging life cycle.
To apply for this role...
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in industrial design, with a portfolio highlighting consumer goods products (preferable outdoor products).
Proficiency in 2D/3D modelling and rendering software such as Rhino, Keyshot and AdobeSuite.
Creative problem-solving skills and a relentless drive for design innovation.
Very helpful; a deep passion for the outdoors and outdoor activities.
Knowledge of the outdoor and adventure equipment market is a strong asset.
