We are looking for an Industrial Engineer (DFX Expert) to start working as part of our Process Control Platform (PCP), a unit within ABB Business Area Process Automation. PCP develops automation products - hardware and software - for monitoring, process control and optimization. We have automation products for all kind of industries. As an Industrial Engineer you will be responsible for guidelines and standards following the DFX principles to ensure perfect hardware quality by specification and design. Key interaction areas are maintaining and controlling ABB production test equipment at our suppliers, monitoring suppliers performance and working together with them to increase it, collaboration with other ABB functions to launch and ramp-up production at EMS plants (ex. participating in quality audits, driving NPI (new product introduction) process, etc.).
Industrial Engineers are a key element in PCP hardware value chain to drive quality and performance of technical solution and production, hence a key element to positive business development and customer satisfaction.
The position is reporting to Industrial Engineering department manager.
Your responsibilities
Following design guidelines and standards (DFX criteria)
Evaluating supplier capabilities in regards to ABB production requirements
Driving test equipment development, ordering and validation process
Product test specification reviews (preferred)
Test strategy, plan and procedures in close collaboration and following product specifications
Investment for new/updated products
Work in close collaboration with SQE (assessments) and follow Lean Six Sigma as the leading principle
ABB asset database management
Support continuous improvement projects at Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)
Act in close collaboration with your team, different ABB functions and suppliers, ensuring performant and cost-efficient production of new products (following NPI (new product introduction) process) and control of ABB assets lifecycle and maintenance

Your background
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware development or Industrial Engineering, Continuation Engineering, Test Design at EMS
Preferably a Master`s degree in electrical/ electronic engineering
Solid knowledge in hardware design and production processes
Professional expertise in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) or introduction of new products in mass production or similar
Good communication skills and a team player
Good oral and written English
Strong quality mindset – strive for perfection
Open and global mindset
Knowledge of IPC electronics standards is beneficial
Knowledge of LabView and/or TestStand is beneficial
Database and information management skills (ex. Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint) is beneficial
