Industrial Engineer to FedEx in Stockholm

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for an analytical Industrial Engineer to FedEx, one of the largest logistics companies in the world.

Are you an engineer with great analytical ability and want to work in logistics for a top global company? Do you have previous experience in data analysis, planning, and optimization and want to try your wings in a new industry? As Industrial Engineer in Field Planning & Engineering you get to work in an influential role in a dynamic team with great impact on the current everyday life as well as the future operation of our company. You will act as internal consultant focused on improvement opportunities, analysis of processes, justification of business cases, and implementation of new solutions and products. This will all happen in an international work environment with global perspectives and a local focus and responsibility. Welcome with your application!

Purpose, Offer and Benefits

FedEx is a reliable employer and provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation and business services. At FedEx, you get the opportunity to work in an influential role in a dynamic cross-functional team where almost every day is different. As part of FedEx´s Planning & Engineering department, you will handle various tasks within problem-solving, continuous improvement processes, workflow optimization, and operational site planning and design. Here you will be part of a stable, international, and fast-growing company.
The Planning & Engineering team for the Nordics has eight members placed in Copenhagen and Stockholm  and has this vacancy in Stockholm. The team is linked to similar teams across Europe. You will be part of a positive and strong team that continuously collaborates both nationally and globally to achieve the best results. Your primary working language is English.

Your Responsibilities

In your role at FedEx, you will deal with complex, strategic issues as well as minor improvements in operations. Your main work tasks will include:

• Perform fact finding and data analysis to identify and promote cost savings and prepare business recommendations to management and senior executives.
• Identify and support operational improvements through e.g. workflow mapping, manning modelling, volume analysis, and layout optimization.
• Contribute to problem solving with a structured approach including root cause analysis, workflow analysis, data mining, etc.
• Implementation of new solutions and procedures, including assessment of local impacts, collection and publication of local data, and follow up on KPIs and metrics.

The Bigger Picture

FedEx is looking to hire a full-time engineer. The position includes mostly work at the office in Stockholm, but partial work at other the FedEx offices in Sweden and the Nordic countries. It will also include some training and collaboration projects with regional teams at other European offices.

Our Expectations

To succeed in this role, you probably have an engineering degree with a focus on logistics, statistics, economics or equivalent. You have previous experience from an analytical role and have good knowledge of Excel, SQL, and databases. In this role, you´ll work with a variety of data sources and business systems. We think you have a background as planner, analyst or statistician in logistics, finance or technology and have experience in data analytics and process optimization. FedEx´s official language is English and it´s, therefore, a requirement that you have good knowledge in both speech and writing. Knowledge in Swedish is a merit but not a requirement.
As a person, you are self-driven, thorough, and flexible. Since the role involves many internal and external contacts, you´re a good communicator and have a good ability to create and maintain long-term working relationships. You like to work on several different projects and are motivated by finding the best and most effective solution for a problem.
