Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of conventional trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. A major part of this transformation is the shift to electrified vehicles.
The Transmission Manufacturing unit is a key player in this transformation and is right now in an expansive and exciting phase laying the foundation for Scanias and Tratons future electrified propulsion production. The scope of transmission machining is enlarged to comprise new components for electric and hybrid transmissions. Within our engineering organisation we collaborate with our R&D to ensure excellent design for manufacturing and continuously challenging our current way of working to ensure world-class production.
The Job
Do you want to make a difference in Scania’s sustainability journey? We are looking for an Industrial engineering manager for our production engineering team consisting of highly engaged and motivated production- and process engineers.
The team has the industrial engineering responsibility for our shafts / synchronizers / gears workshop. Together we optimize the production of Scanias new conventional gearbox as well as drive the shift towards electrification through enabling the production of future drivetrain components, all in close cooperation with R&D.
The responsibility reaches from process understanding and development over ordering and installation of the equipment to supporting with technical competence during production. The goal is to have real state-of-the-art lines, supporting Scania’s transformation journey.
Your role
As a group manager you are responsible for inspiring, coordinating and coaching your team to reach our goals.
A vision and a long term plan for your area of responsibility is set by you. By recruiting and developing people, you build and maintain the foundation of right competences and organisational set-up for our journey. You ensure delivery and quality of projects owned by your team by balancing resources, secure funding, and secure use of existing project tools and best practice way of working. Developing working methods and improve processes to further enhance efficiency and quality of your teams’ deliveries feels natural to you.
You are a part of the Workshop Management Team – consisting of Industrial engineering, production workshop management and maintenance.
You collaborate with internal and external organisations to support a fast development and to maintain an holistic view.
Your profile
We are looking for a manager with minimum 2 years of successful leadership experience and a positive attitude. An academic background and experience from industrial engineering is highly beneficial. As a Manager you’re focusing on the overall picture but are able and interested in understanding the details when needed. You value transparency, engagement and are involved in your team. You also work proactively to mitigate risks and have an “act now”-mentality when deviations occur. Due to the extensive international contacts you must be capable of expressing yourself fluently in both spoken and written Swedish and English. You should also be used to, and comfortable with, presenting in front of large audiences.
Your colleagues
The team is a part of an industrial engineering department consisting of around 100 employees. The team is connected to the subdivision “Operational technology”, but have a close collaboration with the teams connected to the other subdivision “Strategic technology”.
As a manger, you will be a part of the management team working closely together to develop our way of working, balancing resources when needed and support each other to develop our employees and our leadership. The atmosphere is characterized by high trust and an inclusive and supportive manner.
