We are looking for an experienced Industrial IT Infrastructure Engineer for APM Terminals Nordic to take an active part in our terminal automation journey. This position offers you the possibility to use your in-depth technical IT infrastructure skills to support our transformation in running and deploying automation products and services for our industrial terminal environment, enabling business growth and increased operational performance.

This role is key to the deployment and support of industrial technology at our terminal, enabling the automation of our container terminal operation. Supporting the development and delivery of our global IOT & Automation strategy across APM Terminals.
We are a small team in a large global IT organization. Together with us, you will be part of our Nordic IT team based in Gothenburg, from where you will sit in our IT infrastructure team with focus on terminal automation.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the deployment of real time industrial IT infrastructure technology to enable terminal automation.
Actively contributing as subject matter expert to the automation product and service development.
Participate in an agile product development and deployment team to build new products and services applicable to the Nordic terminals.
Technical interface towards technology solution providers and other external and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibility covers the terminal in Gothenburg and work will mainly be local. As part of APM Terminals Nordic some travel must be expected. You will report to the Head of IT Nordic, who sits in the Nordic Management Team, and reports to the Regional CIO for APM Terminals in Europe.
Your main tasks will be:
Work with the Automation Deployment team and end-users to effectively support the implementation of the Automated products in live terminal operations as per defined scope and schedule, and to resolve any issues/challenges that arise
Actively participate and contribute as a Subject Matter expert to Solution Design, Testing, evaluation, and commissioning of Industrial Automation Systems, Applications, Network and Infrastructure as well as their interfaces.
Troubleshoot issues related to industrial network and Wireless connectivity and document solutions into knowledge database.
Ensure IT build documentation for Automation products and services are created and kept updated.
Provide regular status updates and progression reports.
Continuously monitor and proactively report on related risks and opportunities with the deployment of the Automated products and work with the project team towards mitigating it.
Ensure defined service management processes are followed for IT and OT components.
Liaise with sub-contractors, vendors, and 3rd party system integrator for deployment and integration of automation solutions
We are looking for
To succeed in this role, you need previous hands-on experience in working within IT in an industrial and preferably automated environment in a similar organization. You are an expert in industrial IT infrastructure and OT technology. You are persistent, good at problem solving, have a can do and result oriented mentality, are an excellent communicator and used to keeping dialogue with project leaders as well as leaders at all levels in an organization.
Furthermore, we think that you have:
Degree/Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronic, Control or relevant Engineering discipline.
3 - 5 years’ experience in deployment and support of Industrial IT infrastructure technologies.
A keen interest in Sensors, IoT and Industrial Control Systems.
Experience in automation system design and integration in industrial environments and hands on experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS systems is an advantage
Experienced in working with and applying agile and scrum practices
Good understanding of ITIL service management processes and ways of working
