This is an exciting opportunity to join the AstraZeneca positron emission tomography (PET) imaging group at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. You will conduct your doctoral studies in the vibrant interface between academic and industrial research, where you will become part of a team of science focused imaging scientists dedicated to delivering decision making data to advance drug discovery and development. What you'll do
We are seeking a highly motivated and independent organic chemist to work on method development for the radiolabeling and in vitro/in vivo evaluation of biologic drugs using PET. The successful candidate will join the doctoral education program at Karolinska Institutet and participate in the network's training activities and work placements. The doctoral degree will be awarded by the Karolinska Institutet.

Working in this role you will apply your technical and scientific knowledge to explore novel and innovative strategies for method development within radiochemistry

Works independently with limited supervision to plan, conduct and analyse experiments.

Maintaining an awareness of current developments in the literature to support research
Essential for the role
* MSc with a focus on organic chemistry
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to report data in a clear and concise manner, with a clear understanding of its implications.
* Positive and collaborative team player with willingness to improve and learn new skills.

Previous experience of isotope chemistry

An understanding of the drug discovery process
In accordance with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions mobility requirements, candidates are only eligible for this position when they have spent no more than 12 months of their main activity (work, study) during the last three years in Sweden.
