Industrial PhD-student: Decision Support for Integration of Production System and Financial Control and CCC-analysis Volvo Aero, together with Linköping University (Prof. Jan Olhager, Production Economics), has been granted financing to carry through a PhD-project within the area of Production Economics. The PhD-student will be placed at Global Support/Logistics at Volvo Aero in Trollhättan. Job description: The project will have special emphasis towards production control, and especially the effects caused by linkages to measures used for financial control. The project aims to deduce and show how different choices of control parameters influence capital and cost. The aim of the project is to identify suitable measures for monitoring and control which will offer means to make financially more sound production decisions. A typical PhD-project last for 4-5 years. The position includes extensive theoretical studies (courses) as well as putting the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice by formulating new theory and solving industrial problems. The project is expected to lead to a PhD-dissertation for the PhD-student. The position is academically supervised by Prof. Olhager, but primarily placed at Volvo Aero Trollhättan. Presence at Linköping University will also be required. Qualifications: Production Economics at Linköping University is an engineering subject, wherefore the basic requirement is a Master's Degree in a relevant engineering field such as Industrial Engineering and Management or Mechanical Engineering. However, a four-year Master's Degree in Economics or Business Administration with similar breadth and depth will be considered. Additional qualifications: Good communication skills.
