Are you passionate about AI and eager to push the boundaries of embedded systems? RISE Research Institutes of Sweden is offering an exciting PhD position as part of the SeamAI project, focused on pioneering AI technologies for consumer IoT devices like robotic lawn mowers and smart home solutions.
What You'll Work On:
- Advanced AI Toolchains: Contribute to developing and refining state-of-the-art AI pipelines, optimised for deployment in real-world consumer products.
- AI for Embedded Systems: Tackle the challenges of bringing AI into resource-limited environments, utilising innovative frameworks like TinyML and WebAssembly.
- Industry Collaboration: Partner with Swedish industry giants such as Husqvarna and ASSA ABLOY, and directly contribute to shaping the future of AI-driven consumer products.
What We're Looking For:
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar)
- Strong expertise in AI, machine learning, and embedded systems
- Experience in developing software for embedded applications on resource constrained devices (IoT, Arduino, or similar)
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (Python, C/C++, etc.)
- Passion for problem-solving and innovation in the tech industry
- A collaborative mindset and proactive approach to research and development
It is a plus if you are active in the open source community as we will make use of open source tools.

Location and Duration
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in Kista, Stockholm, with the possibility of some remote work. The contract is for 4 years and we help in selecting a PhD supervisor from Uppsala or KTH.
