Industrial Relations Manager

Alstom, the global leader in smart and sustainable mobility is looking for an Industrial Relations Manager in Vasteras, Sweden.
Purpose of the role :
In charge of defining and applying global and country industrial relations policies and processes, ensuring consistency within Alstom Sweden as well as compliance with international or local rules.
Negotiate with Unions local agreements
Benchmark Company practices with evolution of local labour laws and rules.
Advise Senior Management about issues in the IR domain, including support for major restructuring and M&A project
Manage union relationships in Sweden
Drive HR projects in line with the people agenda in Sweden
What You’ll Get To Do :
Within perimeter
Propose industrial relations policy, process and orientations to his/her manager, ensure successful implementation of policy
Communicate throughout the HR network and implement the validated policies
Prepare, review, check and monitor industrial relations action plans
Coordinate actions with the appropriate HR dimensions in his/her perimeter in case of crisis or major issues
Benchmark industrial relations practices in other companies/industries
Be responsible and drive HR projects and improvements as assigned in line with the Swedish business and people strategy and agenda
Country monitoring
Ensure monitoring of local compliance when Industrial relations actions are needed at country level. Taking action where needed
Provide guidance and challenges options developed locally in order to reduce group exposure and mitigate risks as much as possible
Develop an Industrial relations network to ensure consistency
Provide guidance and support in collective issues with employees
Company advisor
Support company plans preparation
Approve specific and tactical plans
Provide guidance and support in collective issues with employees
Group public image
Advise and contribute to internal and external communication in industrial relations related matters
Ensure consistency of practice and compliance with defined regulation and strategy and follow-up legal regulations evolution in the perimeter
Restructuring
Assess proposed plans and costs for collective termination packages and other changes
Ensure consistency and equity among initiatives
Support the perimeters in building, negotiating and implementing collective termination plans
Mergers & Acquisitions
Defines key elements of the management position in acquisitions and disposal
Propose and implement guidelines for Industrial relations internally and externally
Responsible to execute or coordinate of the Industrial relations due diligence, integration and harmonization activities in M&A processes
Responsible to execute or coordinate divestment activities on Industrial relations topics (prepare data-room, respond to questions and review Sell and Purchase Agreement)
You’ll Need To Have :
Experience of managing complex negotiations / consultations with trade unions in Sweden
University degree, majoring in law, human resources,
Several years of experience as HR in a factory/site
Confirmed Industry experience
Solid understanding, knowledge & experience in HR Management tools, policies, processes & best practices
Good knowledge of the local labor laws
Fluency in Swedish and English
Business acumen
Human Resources background
Specific skills, such as negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and leadership
Excellent verbal and written communications and strong interpersonal communications
Initiative and action driven
An understanding of specific industrial relations needs and challenges related to a company’s collective bargaining agreement and business strategy
Analytic thinking, rigorous mindset
Strength in situation leadership, ethics, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cultural competency
