Within Borealis IT&S Business Support Group, Industrial Applications, we are looking for an experienced Industrial Solutions (MES - Manufacturing Execution Systems) Expert.
In your role, you act as the trusted technology advisor and the technical focal point with the responsibility to improve, optimize and develop our MES landscape in line with technical, functional, economical and sustainable standards as well as improve the result within HSE&Q and strong focus on cyber security.
As an Industrial Solutions (MES) expert, you will be...
the go-to person in the demand management process for assessment, challenge, estimation, design etc. and participate in the whole project life-cycle as SME (Subject Matter Expert).
manage services and projects as client representative proxy in activities executed by external partners.
configure, trouble-shoot and solve problems in our MES application landscape.
prioritize requests by working with the business owners to determine efficiency gains with automation.
document, design, build and support applications designed to automate internal and external processes.

About you

You are the right candidate for this position if you have a Master degree in Computer Science or Electronics (or similar) and 10+ years’ experience in a similar role. Evidently, you have an in-depth understanding of industrial applications and their interconnectivity to the 'big data' ecosystem, as well as an in-depth understanding of industrial processes and the way the business in chemical industries uses systems and applications).
You have experience with MES applications such as Historians preferably AspenTech’s Infoplus.21™, optimisation applications, integration to other systems (Distributed Control Systems, Laboratory Information Management Systems, ERP systems ...), knowledge of Industrial protocols, IOT and quickly understand business and data flows within different business groups.
We expect you are able to prioritize demand and requests by working with the business owners to determine efficiency gains with automation and focus on benefit). A comprehensive understanding of IT architecture is essential and knowledge of (operational) vendor management is beneficial. You are fluent in English (spoken, written, literacy) and you have good communication skills. You have high safety and environmental standards and are a team player with high commitment and ownership.
