Our global R&D function is now looking for an Industrialization Engineer for Power Wheelchair Development in Timrå.
Key Tasks
In your role you will represent Industrialization Engineering in product development and product maintenance projects where you will ensure that assembly of Permobil Power Products meets targets for producibility, cost efficiency and most importantly safety.
During product development you will cooperate with many different people and roles, e.g with the Development teams where you together develop a product that is Designed for Assembly (DFA), and with the Sourcing team so that purchased items are optimized for Production Units’ core competence and are similar across the product range.
Industrialization Engineering also has a key role in transferring product knowledge from the Design team to the Production Units. Once a design is agreed upon, you will be responsible for specifying the assembly methods which you will then use to train key staff at production units (“Train the Trainer”).
Within the company, as well as within Industrialization Engineering, we work with continuous improvement. Your duties will be to develop, document and establish new processes and work instructions for the Industrialization Engineering department while making sure they comply with the main processes of the Permobil Quality Management System.
Your Background
You have a university degree within engineering or equivalent education along with experience of flow line production set-ups and processes.
We believe that you have work experience from Production Engineering and would like to use your skills to develop products optimized to fit an existing production assembly flow instead of changing production every time a new product is about to be launched.
You can take on a lead role in the work that needs to be done and you bring ideas and solutions.
To be successful in this position we believe that you can analyze multiple inputs and follow a logical decision-making process to reach a valid conclusion.
In this role you will get the opportunity to work in a truly international environment. The position is based at our site in Timrå and may include some travelling to our production sites in China, US and Sweden.
