Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Role | Industry 4.0 Digital Strategist– Inspire, strategize & set targets | Digital Office ZD 

As Digital is one of the key drivers in the ecosystem of logistics and sustainable transport solutions Scania in 2017 established a strategic central function with the aim of accelerating digitalization across Scania – named the Scania Digital Office. Digital transformation is today engaging all parts of Scanias business, from Product Development, Order to delivery to  Sales & Service delivery. The central function is headed by Chief Digital Officer Mikael Cato, reporting to CEO Christian Levin. 

The key responsibility areas for the Digital office going forward are 

Inspire, challenge and work jointly with key decision-makers to set the Digital direction for Scania and ensure the Digital transformation gets embedded and driven throughout the business
Build select Digital capabilities and in those drive a step change in maturity across the organization. The digitalization efforts are managed and executed cross-functionally through CEO and ExecutiveBoard with integrated digital governance aiming at both speed and impact with both here and now objects as well as targets set in the 2025 strategy. Business or functional CDOs working in integrated into each of the functions management teams a digital officer network  their local digital offices, led by business representatives. A central team of strategic, digital and leadership competence (the Digital Office. The digital strategy work is targeted towards stakeholder domains – being the Industrial Domain, Supporting Functions Domain and the Commercial Domain. We are now looking for a digital strategist for our Industrial Domain. You will be part of defining the targets, the strategy and the roadmap for accelerating our journey into an Industry 4.0 excellence. 

Your tasks 
Scania is accelerating our digital journey– ranging from operational excellence, digitalization of customer interactions, developing new digital products and services to adopting new digital business models. The aim for this role is to strongly contribute to the further development and deployment of Scania’s strategy and capabilities for our 2025 perspective within the Industrial domain – ie. Research & Development, Purchasing, and Production & Logistics.  

The main tasks are the following 

Be part of a team of six Digital strategists serving four dimensions of Scania business 
Digitally enabled business models and services. Commercial and retail digitalization Industrial digitalization Support system digitalization. Contribute to keeping the team members and Scania leaders up to date regarding relevant digital trends and developments. Together with the team, establish and maintain a framework for digital strategy development, covering elements like; trend analyses, benchmarking, identification of digital business opportunities, internal capability analyses, KPI and target setting as well as road map definition. Work together with the team members and Scania leaders to develop our Industry 4.0 strategy in order to support our business ambitions in the best possible way. Find creative and inspiring ways to communicate the digital strategy to various key stakeholders across Scania in order to ensure understanding and adoption of the strategy   

Your profile 

You have a Masters degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience working with digital enhancements of processes within an Industrial context (preferably within R&D, Supply Chain, or Production in a manufacturing company). You have experience in participating in strategy/process development and are skilled in developing business cases and driving workshops as well as performing internal and external business analysis. You have a solid insight into the opportunities modern information technology opens up in an industrial context 
You are a highly valued team player and an excellent communicator– you are good at explaining complex dependencies in an easy-to-understand way. You are structured, proactive and have experience in project management. You keep updated on the latest digital trends and are familiar with agile software development methods
