ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are recruiting a Legal Counsel to the GTP Legal and Compliance Department. This role will support the purchase of components and services for the Volvo Group focusing on Information Technology (IT). You will report to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Legal & Compliance, Group Trucks Purchasing. The work tasks offer cross-functional collaboration with other Volvo legal counsels and business stakeholders across the globe and may require occasional travel.
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
Participate in IT and data services sourcing projects
Participate in contract drafting and negotiations
Coordinate with legal counsels from other parts of the Volvo Group around the world
Provide counsel to business stakeholders in conjunction with disputes
Drafting and updating contract templates and legal guidelines
Provide support on intellectual property matters (dependent on experience)
Promote compliance with laws and regulations and internal legal processes
Proactively manage and enhance awareness of legal and commercial risks
Critical Competencies:
10+ years of automotive IT experience
Bachelor of Law
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in negotiation and drafting of contracts together with experience in contract and commercial law in the IT, data, SaaS/PaaS space
A true business interest and understanding of the IT market, with high drive and energy
Readiness to perform multiple duties effectively in a fast-paced environment
A drive to learn, develop and contribute to the success of the Volvo Group and the legal team
Creative problem-solving abilities and a commercial interest
Curious, accountable and proactive with a “can do” mindset
Ability to work independently and in teams
Ability to work cross jurisdictions with cultural awareness and appreciation
Strong personal credibility and integrity
Advantages:
