Infotainment systems is one of the fastest growing areas within Automotive today. Competition is no longer limited to traditional automotive competitors, as innovative and fast-moving companies like Google and Apple are also starting to get involved in the area. The Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy is to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars.

What you’ll do
As an Infotainment Software Developer, you will be responsible for implementing a complete feature, from HMI to hardware abstraction layer. You will use the latest tools and technologies available and collaborate with partners and other stakeholders to deliver state-of-the-art software. You are also responsible for verification and validation of the software, which involve automation tests that run in CI environment. As part of R&D organization you will have the opportunity to actively provide innovative solutions for our products.
Main responsibilities:
* Software development in application and native layers of Android stack for the infotainment system
* Collaboration with UX and stakeholders to define a coherent end-to-end solution
* End-to-end responsibility including design, architecture, documentation, implementation, verification and validation

Required qualifications / skills:
* M.Sc in Software Engineering or equivalent experience through years of practice
* At least 6 years of software development in C++ and/or Java
* Experience in modern app architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, layered architecture, refactoring)
* Experience in Android stack
* Experience from working in a Linux environment
* Experience in developing automated unit or integration test in C++/Java or Python.
* Experience in working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools

Meritorious:
* Experience within Automotive or Infotainment
* Matlab modeling experience
* Experience in Automotive communication buses, CAN, Flexray, SomeIP, etc
* Experience in software development on QNX platform
* Driver’s license (B-level)
* Vehicle and Rig testing experience
