Virtual Lifecycle Management solutions covers Virtual Product lifecycle management (PLM), CAD and data exchange. The solutions are a key enabler to achieve engineering efficiency, virtual trust, and the digital capabilities across the Volvo Group. Today the collaboration domain consists of platforms to exchange data with external suppliers and internal users and the domain will grow and transform in the on-going digitalization journey.

We are driving several exciting transformation projects and initiatives to digitalize our business processes and leverage the value of data and become a fully data-driven company. Our existing IT solutions comprises of a mix of varied technologies like Microsoft, Java, and Commercial Off the shelf (COTS) IT solutions and SaaS solutions from CAD and PLM vendors. We find ourselves on the cusp of a transformation with heavy investments to transform and modernize our overall IT architecture.
We are supporting the Volvo Group’s Digital ambitions to become a fully agile, data-driven company, and we are building the foundations, supported by improved use of digital data through its lifecycle.
WHO ARE YOU?
As a person, you have analytical skills, and you love to solve problems. You are good in communication, both when it comes to technical details as well as business needs. You have ability to build relationships and networks. You act with a sense of ownership and work with the team in mind. You like multi-tasking and to take ownership. Being a team player with positive mindset and a customer-oriented attitude is in your nature, and you know the various challenges. You must care for empowerment, inspiration and a “can do” attitude.
You have a desire to work with applications managing geometry data like windchill, 3D experience, CREO, CATIA V5 and Thingworx. You have the ability to drive and secure the developing together with architecture roadmap. You have experience of IT assignments in infrastructure, understanding of load balancing concepts and techniques and if you have Cloud experience (Azure, OpenShift) it will be beneficial but it is not required.
You will be part of a global team where you will play an important role with the rest of us in contributing to setting strategy as well as working with continuous improvement. You will be involved in new development, containing infrastructure in close collaboration with the development teams.
You need knowledge of Agile and modern software development practices. We believe you have competence in Linux/window server, Oracle (Postgres and SQL server including basic SQL query development), Installation, configuring and runtime management of Apache, Tomcat, Java based applications, MQ, Web services, Scripting for automating tasks (Bash/Powershell), Network LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, https, ssh.
