We are now looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our team in Gothenburg. Reporting to the the Planning & Reliability Manager, you will lead the terminal Reliability discipline, building a culture of continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with other Asset Maintenance disciplines and terminal staff, you will ensure that the reliability and availability of terminal equipment and vehicles are sustained, and maximum benefits are achieved in terms of cost and quality control.
Key responsibilities:
Support other terminals within the region, providing reliability support and expertise
Ensure all terminal equipment and facilities perform at their optimum level of reliability and availability, meeting or exceeding operational requirements
Provide subject matter expertise for equipment reliability management within the local terminal
Build a robust reliability framework, integrating best practices and continuously improving asset performance in alignment with operational goals.
Proactively provide specialized reliability knowledge, guidance, and support to all terminal personnel, as requ
Continually review equipment breakdowns, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance history, implementing a process of continual improvement to eliminate major or repetitive failures
Monitor equipment reliability and availability statistics within the terminal and support terminals to improve overall equipment availability & reliability by using different analysis techniques such as Pareto chart analysis and Weibull analysis to achieve operational service requirements
Contribute to global APMT reliability forums, exchanging data and sharing best practices to improve global equipment maintenance strategies
Provide input or professional advice for special reliability improvement projects
Lead defect elimination/root cause analysis reviews for major or repetitive failures
Contribute to incident and damage investigations as required
Conduct/commission FMECA or similar studies on new or modified terminal equipment, ensuring the most effective methods of maintenance are selected
Review quality of maintenance and repair reporting and suggest improvements where required
Initiate RCA’s and problem-solving sessions, using a different approach such as 5whys, the fishbone diagram
Develop a long-term strategy for reliability management within the terminal Asset Maintenance department, focusing on improving competency and understanding of equipment reliability for all terminals within the region, establishing reliability engineering as an integral part of daily operations
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Act as the primary liaison for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) regarding reliability performance and technical escalations.
Develop and maintain a list of external reliability and condition monitoring resources and contacts for any specialized reliability management services that may be outside of the normal remit of the terminals
COST MANAGEMENT
Develop cost-effective strategies to reduce maintenance and repair expenses while enhancing equipment performance and uptime.
Develop strategies for the optimization and management of maintenance and repair costs through improved reliability and support the implementation of cost optimization measures for terminal
About you:
University degree in a related industry
Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic/ Communication/ Mechatronics Engineer level
Solid experience in reliability management, CBM program implementation, and Asset Maintenance operations
Skilled and highly experienced in CBM programs (Ultrasound, Thermography, Vibration, Oil Analysis, and NDT inspections)
Demonstrated expertise in leading RCAs, FMECA studies, and defect elimination initiatives for port terminal equipment, including cranes and mobile assets
Strong analytical skills, applicable to terminal equipment, cranes, and mobile equipment.
Structured, driven, self-motivating, result-orientated
Excellent communication and influencing skills to secure buy-in from diverse stakeholders
Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, regarding employees, local authorities, and other stakeholders
Good communication skills and ability to influence
Membership of an appropriate reliability/CBM and or engineering professional organization is preferred
Good written English and verbal communication - Swedish communication is an asset
