Who we are
The Research & Innovation Office at Scania R&D is responsible for equipping Scania with the right capabilities to take advantage of new technologies and create new offers in transport and logistics, as well as to coordinate and communicate research and innovation within Scania.
The department is responsible for Scania's internal strategy and process for this work and supports the organization with contacts for external research funding as well as academic and industrial parties.
We focus on experimental concept development and business innovation. By conducting exploratory research projects, coaching the organization and facilitating the creation of new business operations, we strengthen Scania's ability to transform societal and user needs into new business opportunities.
Role and responsibilities
In this role you will work in a cross functional work group but ultimately be a part of Innovation Office. By working in explorative innovation projects as well as supporting the organization in various innovation management practices, we aim to strengthen Scania’s ability to turn research into tangible business opportunities. We want you to help us become even sharper in our problem framings, accelerate the pace we do prototyping and bring creative ideas on how to build stronger business models with a system perspective.
As an Innovation coach you will support initiatives aiming at exploring new business ideas. You will be facilitating design sprints and as a process leader support the organization to work in structured ways to capture new customer values.
With an entrepreneurial approach you will help teams develop strong business cases and validate new solutions in the transport ecosystem. It’s an inspiring environment where you will work close with some of the most futuristic people at Scania who all have a desire to create a footprint on our future journey.
Example of work duties:
• Coach innovation teams through Scania Innovation Factory Program
• Lead and facilitate workshops and work groups on topics such as ideation, customer insighting, business modeling, team building, and early stage sales
• Actively support innovation teams in business development
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the R&I program
• Host educative sessions on the topic of entrepreneurship and innovation

We also believe the following experience will help you excel in the role:
• A track record taking a new idea all the way to commercialization (startup or corporate)
• 2-4 years of experience as a coach, facilitator, or mentor within a corporate or startup environment
• Experience applying innovation methodologies and tools such as: Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Lean Business Model Development, and Agile
• Experience with market research, segmentation, and prioritization
