What you’ll do
We are seeking two Innovation Research Fellows to join our innovation team (location Uppsala) for a two year research and development program of production methodologies for the future. More specifically the program will encompass downstream processing (DSP) utilizing groundbreaking techniques and will involve novel modalities. The scope will cover both small-scale experiments and potentially separation experiments in full production scale. Typically, metrics such as minimized process time, removing steps, increasing yield will be investigated. The successful candidate will:
Perform research to generate chromatography and analytical data for internal and/or external clients and will be responsible for the investigation of new technologies and experimentation directed at the practical application of scientific theories.
Assure that programs meet scientific objectives and are aligned with customer needs.
Investigate new purification solutions addressing the increased challenges facing biopharma due to increased molecular diversity in the pipeline.
Build relationships with industry/technology key opinion leaders.
When applicable, publish and present scientific data for an international audience.
Work closely with an interdisciplinary product development team, where you will apply your customer workflow knowledge and experience to create innovations that enable more effective and affordable therapies.

The mission of the program seeks to bring together exciting research with the potential to generate high business impact. We are looking for someone with entrepreneurial spirit to join the leagues of innovative thinkers driving the development of world-changing technology. Requirements for the role includes:
PhD in molecular biology, cellular biology, molecular medicine, pharmacology or molecular life sciences.
Experience of performing independent research or development activities along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to plan, execute and report chromatographic experiments.
Experience from bioreactor cultivations will be considered advantageous.
Team player and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment
Self-propelled, results driven, adaptive test & learn mindset and with the ability to switch between tasks
Good communication skills (both written and spoken), including presentation skills
Working language in English
