Schibsted News Media operates market-leading newspapers in Norway and Sweden, including brands such as Aftonbladet, VG, Aftenposten, BT, Aftenbladet, and SvD. Data and Insight are key capabilities we have within these brands today, but now we are doing investments in also strengthening these capabilities centrally.

Shared Product & Platforms (SPP) is a central unit in News Media and is responsible for products and platforms used across all our news brands. We are 120 great Product, Tech, and UX people, located in Oslo, Stockholm, and Krakow. One of the teams is the Media Insights team. With its 3 Analysts and 3 Data Engineers, they focus on creating insights both within SPP, as well as across all our brands. Now we are looking for a new Insights Lead for this team.

The Role
You will report directly to the Director of Products for Shared Products & Platforms and be part of the extended leadership team. You will be expected to manage your own area of responsibility as well as contribute both strategically and operationally across SPP and News Media in cross-functional initiatives.

In this role you will:

- Lead a team of Analysts and Data Engineers, including day-to-day management of the team
- Work closely with other analytical teams throughout Schibsted.
- Responsible for specific datasets in News Media in regards to completeness, accessibility, and correctness.
- Have an overall understanding of the different datasets in News Media to guide and support measuring both output and outcome of activities
- Work closely with UX Research to ensure both qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Ensure generic default views on owned data, i.e. widely available dashboards, and self-service BI
- Work with management teams to discover and deliver on cross-brand dashboard and reporting need

Who you are:

- A degree or relevant experience in analytics, computer science, or related field
- Experience with managing and leading a cross-functional team
- Experience with complex stakeholder management and tough prioritization
- A product mindset and experience of working with OKRs or similar goal setting frameworks
- Technically proficient and able to discuss and assess technical solutions related to data platform/warehouse.
- Strong collaborative 360 approach balancing complexity and pragmatism
- Empathic but firm leader highly adept at prioritizing and focusing efforts under pressure while being able to balance short and long term goals
- Engaging communicator with the ability to clearly provide the two-way narrative bridge between data and business
- Able to operate comfortably in an agile large scale corporate environment
- Have a strategic mindset and a natural ability to translate into tactics
- Thrive on enabling others to deliver value
- English language written and spoken fluency is required

The team is currently staffed in Stockholm, but both Oslo and Stockholm will be considered for applicants.

Product & Tech is responsible for product development and technology platforms for News Media brands. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
