ABB’s GPQS unit in Ludvika, Sweden, part of the group’s Power Grids division, currently has a vacancy for an Installation Manager, at our Field Operations. If you want to work with advanced power and electrical systems and have the necessary drive and customer focus, GPQS offer a stimulating and dynamic environment in a global context where you will be working at the forefront of the industry.
Your responsibilities
As Installation Manager within the Field Operations, you will work with high quality deliveries and cost-effective solutions for our customers.
You will focus on preparation, erection, validation, reporting and follow up on Greenfield/Brownfield assignments.
You will also participate in Service work of GPQS plants around the world.
This opens for a stimulating role where you will work with all parts of a FACTS/Substation application from computer-based control system to high voltage equipment like transformers, thyristor valves and cooling system.
You can look forward to building up a large network and to have frequent contact with other engineering groups, project managers, local ABB offices, suppliers and our customers.
You will get the possibility to visit and face different countries and cultures.
Managing a team of 16 people in the field of installation.
Managing budget as well as planning and allocating resources for our projects.
You will have responsibility for assembly, workshop, instruments and tools.

Your background
To excel in this position, you need to be organized, responsive and solution-driven, with a strong focus on delivering high safety and quality results and serving the customer.
You need to be able to work both in teams and independently.
A BSc in engineering, with a specialisation in High Voltage electrical power, electronics, computer science or similar is required.
Preferably you combine your studies with some years of experience from similar positions working with deliveries, Construction/Erection of electrical power plants and/or control systems.
Swedish Civil Construction/Installation experience is an advantage.
An outgoing personality is a must, as this job entails a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues and suppliers.
Since you will face the customer directly you also need to have the ability to identify and present improvements to the customer in a professional way.
Proficiency in English and Swedish is required.
