HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a business unit within Hitachi ABB Power Grids located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. In this role you will be responsible for planning and managing HVDC project installation site works (high voltage equipment, cables and cable ways, auxiliary power, control cubicles).
You should be available for site assignment typically between 4 and 12 months at a time depending on project.
Your responsibilities
Plan and manage safe execution of Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ activities related to installation work and mechanical completion of HVDC system equipment on site
Support Site Manager with planning and coordination of overall activities
Assist in technical discussions with the customer representative
Manage and follow up subcontracted works
Organize and manage the installation team on site
Work during off-site time periods consists of tender work, remote site works support, improvement work regarding methods/tools

Your background

Experience from either Installation works in big plants/construction sites/High Voltage installations
Ability to take lead and work hands-on to deliver on time
Ability and willingness to travel – at times; far, often and on short notice
Putting safety first - on and off work
Electrical installation certification is preferred
Experience from mechanical or electrical design is a bonus
Proficient in English since you will be part of an international setting where you will get to exchange knowledge with people from all over the world
