Installation&Testing Engineer R&D Accessories

Interested in running our high voltage power cable accessories development and testing projects? Then this is a great opportunity to join a new department in Technology at NKT Alingsås solely collaborating with  development and technology qualification of advanced power cable accessories.

We see worldwide activities to a fast transition in meeting the ambitious climate targets of enormous reduction of emissions by more than 50% and being fully climate neutral in the next decades. Electrification with renewable energy is paramount in meeting the targets and Energy company’s does therefore require advanced transmission systems such as power cable accessories for land cables, power from shore and offshore wind applications. We are therefore establishing a new power cable accessories R&D team with focus on leading projects for power cable accessories.

Your main responsabilities:
•    Managing development & type tests (high power, high voltage, high current, mechanical, environmental) in High Voltage Accessories of power cables for product developments, projects and for customer qualification type test series 
•    Organization, preparation, attendance, evaluation and documentation of studies, simulations and tests 
•    Collaboration with scientists and engineers from NKT research, development centers and internal + external laboratories around the world
•    Trigger and initiate development of tools that support the evaluation of tests 
•    Creation and improvement existing working rules and best practice guidelines 
•    Participating and supervising in research and development projects 

Operational and solution-oriented approach
We are looking for an proactive person who easily can address short term issues in the context of day to day business. You have an operational approach! You are creative, independent and solution-oriented. 
High-level communication skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment will also be a success factor in this role.

In addition to the above, your CV probably also includes: 
•    Industrial experience in power cables accessories for design, development and testing of products
•    High voltage apparatus R&D experience including testing know-how is required
•    Industrial experience in new product development for high voltage power cable accessories or similar by utilizing systematic use of modelling and simulation tools for product validation, application engineering and cost-down projects
•    Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, IS and other industrial standards
•    Leadership, ability to manage interdisciplinary team
•    Electrical engineer (BTech), Electrical engineer or closely related fields with professional/Industrial experience of 12-15 years 
•    Electrical engineer (MTech) or PHD, Electrical engineer or closely related fields with professional/Industrial experience of 8-12 years
