Instrumentation and Metrology Manager

Job scope
High level purpose of function.
Instrumentation and Metrology Management oversees the methods development in the calibration process, instruments maintenance and overall Calibration Management System that meets company standards. Develops department capabilities and capacities according the needs. Verifies preventive maintenance programs and procedures. Reviews and approves the testing and evaluation methods of standard and special devices. Prioritizes schedules based on product introduction and manufacturing and engineering schedules. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Key responsibilities
Overall areas of responsibility and activities.
· Manage department personnel and applied systems
· Develop calibration plan and lead calibration review meetings
· Lead team periodical meetings
· Approve of calibration procedures and methods
· Weekly reports to Technical Administration Manager
· Lead continuous improvement projects for the department
· Ensure department workflow, system and SOP revisions including upgrades and improvements according defined Quality Standards
· Set 5S standards and maintain in high level
· Operate the escalation process
· Recruit Instrumentation department personnel
· Set training plan to improve individual performance
· Actively participate on yearly budget planning by define spare parts/consultants/services needs considering business cost challenges
· Define long term asset and functioning strategy of the department

· Authorized to decide on investments according to role and policy.
Requirements
Educational background and previous experience required for the role.
Qualifications and experience
· BSc or MSc degree in Metrology/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant
· 4+ years of relevant experience within the field of Calibration Engineering in manufacturing environment
· Experience in supervising a team of instrumentation personnel with strong leadership in multicultural environment
· Familiar with Calibration Management Systems, Beamex CMX is plus
· Experience in leading projects for process improvements
· Fluency in English

· Technical knowledge of measuring instruments, work principles and measurement systems
· Proven skills in working with problem solving in industrial environment
· Solid knowledge on modern calibration strategies/technologies/procedures
