Integration Developer for Test Environment SIL/HIL

Arbetsbeskrivning

Let us tell you a little about who we are:
Volvo Autonomous Solutions is a new Business Area within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer autonomous transport solutions. Together we will work on autonomous solutions that will challenge current standards and take us into the future. With entirely new business models and advanced technology we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contribute to a society we want to live in. We will accelerate the development, commercialization and sales of autonomous transport solutions within the Volvo Group. We combine a typical start-up’s agility with the strength of belonging to the Volvo Group.

There’s already about 150 of us and together we form a strong team ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us. You will join our Simulation Team and our journey towards shaping a better, more sustainable future. The success of making self-driving trucks and construction machines into real operation lies in the test and data driven development, which is what our team works with.

What will you be working with as Integration Engineer?
SIL and HIL testing are key steps in continuous integration, verification and validation to enable quality, speed and safety for Autonomous Driving (AD). Integration among SIL and HIL components, test environment and system under test, 3rd party development and test tools are becoming challenging while the AD product complexity evolves. Maintaining SIL, HIL and its surrounding toolchain compatible to the product development needs requires a broad knowledge of all components involved and continuous integration and testing. This is where your role as Integration Engineer will be important.

Your role will be to act as the glue to different test tools like SIL, HIL, test automation, CI/CD tools and most importantly system under test. You will together with the HIL team build and develop HIL rigs that consist of SIL components, rest bus simulation hardware, simulation models, mockup functions and device under test.

You will integrate the HIL rigs into the CI/CD pipeline which continuously run tests on the HIL rigs, to verify that the product software has the correct behavior on the target device. The test results then visualized in portal which serves as feedback to the development teams in fast iterations and to further evolve the test design.

Who are you?
As we don’t know you yet, we might not have everything right about your background and who you are. But when we imagine who you are, we believe you have good social skills as this job is all about collaborations. For us this means that you should be good listener, communicator and that it is easy for you to connect with other people. We also believe key competencies for this role is structure, collaborative and positive spirit with a make it happen-mindset. You are likely also passionate about building development tools, implementing testing workflows and infrastructure work as that is what this job is about.

You’re probably also open to work in a completely new context where we together are the motivators to make the future of automated transport solutions happen. As our business area is new you should share our curiosity for new technology, tools and way of working and want to take it to the next level.

Other Key Competencies for the Position:
University degree in Computer Engineering, Physics Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or equivalent
Experience with development of high-quality production software
Skilled C/C++, Python programmer in Linux environments
Wide experience of real time simulations or HIL development

Competencies that we would be happy if you had:
Experience with CI/CD development, Docker, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible
Experience in communication protocol, protobuf, DDS, REST API
Understanding of cluster computing, HPC, kubernets
Experience in Carla Simulation
Experience from development in Robot Operating Systems (ROS)
Experience of HIL rigs, simulation tools and test automation tools from either dSpace, Vector, or NI
Verification engineer experience

We are actively working to establish teams that will take maximum advantage of the strength inherent to differences in knowledge, experience, age, gender and nationality, among others. We find that well balanced work teams increase group dynamics, creativity and new approaches to solutions.

Are we a perfect match?
We offer you a chance to be involved in defining the future solutions within the transport industry, where we together are the motivators to make the future of automated transport solutions happen. If you love to work in the forefront of technology and can see the importance and challenges of developing simulation and testing framework to achieve safe and sustainable transport solutions don´t hesitate, then you have come to the right place. Welcome to apply and join our world full of opportunities!
