Interaction Designer

You will be part of CRC ? ABB Corporate Research in Västerås. We are a global organization delivering innovative solutions for all ABB units. Our research projects typically develop proof of concept solutions with the latest technology. Within these projects we have a close dialogue with our business units as well as end customers to identify tomorrow?s market needs. To fulfill these needs, we monitor, identify and make use of the latest technologies, when we shape ideas and provide new innovative solutions.

At Corporate Research we are strengthening our focus on interaction design and user experience. We are therefore looking for an innovative and creative interaction designer. If you want to take the opportunity to make a strong impact on shaping how next generation users will interact with ABB?s products and services, this is your next challenge. By observing and exploring current use and predicting future trends ? finding inspiration in consumer products as well as from what is used in other domains ? you will design innovative interaction solutions with an impressive user experience. You will work closely with other researchers, customers, business managers, analysts, and developers to capture their needs and implement your ideas. This position offers a massive opportunity to lead the development of modern experience designs concerning, and increasing the intangible value of technically complex products and solutions.

You are an innovative, creative interaction designer who combines knowledge of the latest in technology and trends with an ability to engage in user behavior. To be successful in this position, you need to have an inspiring portfolio showcasing innovative interaction design solutions and experience in rapid prototyping. As a foundation you are experienced in designing interaction concepts for different platforms, and possibly hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. Regardless of your degree you know what the role as Interaction Designer entails and that hands-on knowledge in the following areas are highly valued: Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, game development, mobile devices, graphic design, 3D visualization, and software development and technologies. If you are experienced or have interest in project management, this position can also offer a chance of leading your own team. You must be a skilled English speaking communicator with the ability to collaborate with customers as well as colleagues from all over the world.
