But we’d like to think that our story is special for real. Hear us out. The story of Nextory began in Syria, where our founders grew up. When they were children, they witnessed how the dictatorship limited the access to books, and saw what it did to their country. So when Shadi and Ninos came to Sweden, they made it their mission to make books available to everyone.
Fast forward a few years, and Nextory was born. We offer a monthly subscription where our users can read and listen to as many books as they like. Sounds like a pretty cool product to work with, right? We think so too.
We’re on the hunt for an interim Accounting Manager to join our fantastic Finance team on the quest of making the world a happier and more democratic place. We’re seven people today with varied backgrounds.
So who are we looking for?
What you will be doing:
Our wonderful Accounting Manager will be leaving for maternity leave at the end of September and therefore we are in need of someone who will cover this position for approximately 1 year. As an interim Accounting Manager you will mainly be responsible for the daily accounting on group level in the parent company, consolidated accounts and you ensure that each project is flowing by and follow up the activities that you have agreed upon. The role involves many contact areas both internally and externally and you report to our CFO. You will also be leading two people in their daily work.
The role involves;
Responsibility for the monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting
Supporting the team with consolidating on group level and reporting
Assisting with the yearly audit and closing including annual report
Supporting in VAT, tax related and other accounting related questions
Project management with local accounting firms and possibly procurement of new accounting firms abroad.
Involvement in ongoing projects in the accounting team, such as improving processes in Netsuite, integrating new companies in the system and other exciting system related projects
Who you are:
We believe that you have a great interest in the entire life cycle of accounting and that you have earlier experience of IFRS and consolidating accounts as well as experience from working in an international environment. You like to work in a structured way and have the ability to maintain order in a changing environment and you are comfortable with pursuing improvement and driving change. To be successful in the role, you need to have a good ability to work independently, even if the finance team works very closely and collaborates a lot. Furthermore we believe that you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, and thrive from having a lot of responsibility!
We want you to have / are:
Relevant educational background
At least 5+ years of experience working with accounting
Experience of working with IFRS and consolidated accounts
Fluent in both Swedish and English
We will be extra curious if you also have..
Experience from organizations that are characterized by high growth
Experience of Netsuite
