We have over 13 million users all over the world who have logged over 12 million catches in our app. We’re growing fast, both in our social network and in the company, which is why we’re looking for an Interim Business Development Director (Contractor) to join our Business Development team.
What we are looking for:
Fishbrain is seeking an Interim Director of Business Development to fill in during a parental leave. Overall responsibility is to lead the Business Development team and identify and drive subscription growth opportunities through external partnerships and play a crucial part in Fishbrain's future growth. The individual will be responsible for realizing the company's business development strategies from ideation to implementation. Opportunities can come from the private, nonprofit, and governmental sectors. Ability to to understand both a high tech product organization and the fishing/outdoor industry will be key to have success in this role. A secondary responsibility will be to drive and oversee Fishbrain’s marketplace seller strategy. This role has two direct reports and reports to our Chief Marketing Officer.
Location:
This position can be based anywhere in the US, though preferably in the eastern time zone as our headquarter is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
This is a contractor position.
Your daily work will involve:
Lead the Business Development team
Become deeply familiar with the Fishbrain product and market
Identify, initiate and close partnerships with the aim to drive Fishbrains user numbers and Pro subscriptions throughout the US.
Collaborate across the Fishbrain team to find ways to launch MVP’s with new partners
Build business cases with cost and growth expectations with new partnerships
Oversee our marketplace seller strategy and experience
Foster creativity and innovation throughout the Business Development team


What we are fishing for:
Bachelor degree required, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years of relevant experience, with a focus on partnerships and digital products
Experience with people management



Some Preferred "Nice to Haves":
Experience managing Business Development teams
Familiarity with subscription revenue businesses
App partnership experience at scale
