Your experience in Electric Vehicle Propulsion Inverter System and Hardware development would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

This position is based at our HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you’ll do

Our Propulsion Inverter-team is a part of the Polestar Propulsion Department and is a team with a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers’ expectations. The team consists of hardware engineers, software engineers and system designers responsible for the delivery of the inverter as a subsystem in our driveline.

Your responsibilities will be:

- Setting design requirements for the inverter towards our suppliers for a world-class product
- Support testing of the electric drive train unit in the vehicle
- Build relationship and drive suppliers for the complete development cycle
- Responsible for the specification, design, development, and validation of inverter
- Participate in design reviews
- Develop and work with supplier and Polestar approved test lab to implement EMC test plan
- Ensure design meets functional safety standards
- Provide day to day support to resolve user concerns, investigate and solve system faults and errors
- Lead quality foundation documents.


Essentially, you will be one of our experts in how to implement hardware that will maximize the attributes like range, energy efficiency, smoothness and performance feel.

You are enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized and driven. You are a team player and strong communicator, able to effectively present to both technical and executive audiences. You’re not afraid to try new approaches and out of the box methods. You have a holistic view, including vision, business and customers. You are self-starting with solid follow-through and multitasking abilities.

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or other related degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
- Extended experience in development of inverter/power electronics within automotive industry for industrialized applications.
- Knowledge in the application of various high power switching technologies / semiconductor materials (Si, SiC and GaN)
- Excellent knowledge of the thermal challenges of high-power inverter design
- Experience with development tools and methods for the design of inverter technologies preferred
- Awareness of applicable building, electrical, interconnection codes, electrical grid / energy distribution, industry best practices, new products, and applications a plus
