Kinnevik is looking for a top performer to join as an Associate in the Nordic investments team becoming its 6th member. You will be part of a dynamic journey working closely with Kinnevik’s entrepreneurs, in the heart of where the action and decision making are, to make people’s everyday lives better.
Kinnevik is a flat, non-hierarchical environment. Already as Associate you get a lot of responsibility with Kinnevik’s portfolio companies, getting board seats early, and with the team, providing a solid foundation for a continued career at Kinnevik and its group of investee companies.

The Role and Responsibilities
You will principally work together with your Nordic Investment team but will, as most people in our organization, work with other senior members of our broader management team, the Investment team in London, and the Corporate Team from time to time.
As an Investment Associate, you will be actively involved in every stage of the investment process and support the investment team in investigating potential opportunities and in working actively with Kinnevik’s portfolio companies. This will include sourcing of new investment opportunities, the initial review, due diligence and development of the value creation thesis, deal structuring and implementation as well as monitoring of portfolio companies. Key responsibilities will include:
New Investments And Due Diligence
• Carry out sector deep dives and market mapping exercises to identify, investigate and assess interesting investment opportunities
• Lead initial assessments of companies, providing insight and detailed analysis on the company or sector to the investment team
• Assess and analyse reports, market data, financials and build complex financial models to evaluate and conclude on informed recommendations on potential investment opportunities
• Coordinate due diligence processes for potential investments and be involved in meetings with the target companies
• Assist with the overall deal execution and work collaboratively with deal teams, the finance and legal team as well as liaise with (and manage) third parties and professional advisors
• Prepare presentation materials to senior investment professionals for the EIC to present investment opportunities
Portfolio Management
• Help the founders and managers of the portfolio companies overcome growth challenges by providing value-adding support and expertise
• Monitor and follow up on our investments, evaluate their performance and track progress to plan and present to senior investment professionals
Market Understanding
Your job is to understand all aspects of the start-up world in the Nordics, to

• Proactively support the work of building and expanding Kinnevik’s networks in the entrepreneurial space to source deals, raise capital and positively impact the value of Kinnevik’s current portfolio

Ideal Profile
You will need to have:
• 2-3 years of experience, out of which at least 1 year of structural background from management consulting, investment banking or big four, from a top firm. Preferably combined with operational experience from venture/start-up/tech environments, product, go to market/internationalization, research, analytics, data science in a commercial context
• Investor acumen potential; experience within financial modelling, valuation and investment analysis
• A strong academic record
• Superb analytical skills with keen attention to detail, having a structured approach, process-oriented, a drive, a doer
• Proven research and presentation skills, and possess strong professional knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
• Flawless spoken and written English
• Genuine interest in the entrepreneurial space – always eager to learn more about new trends, sectors, techniques, and innovations
