The Investment Director / Country Manger role involves a very high level of responsibility and self-motivation combined with deep investment experience across public and private markets. This role is a senior role and will have a dual reporting line the Group’s Executive Officer and Investment Committee based in Asia Pacific. Duties of the Investment Director / Country Manager - Sweden include:
Responsible for managing all operations and investments within country. This involves taking responsibility for capital, profit, revenue, cash and quality targets.
Identifying public and private investment opportunities across the country and conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess suitability of investment.
Agreeing annual budgets and producing a detailed annual business operating plan and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual targets for capital, revenue, profits and cash.
Produce business performance reports, which could be on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Recruit, train and manage staff, including performance monitoring, mentoring and training.
The role is not client facing therefore the ability to operate in isolation without consensus and external input is essential.
The role requires the following skills at a minimum:
Must be educated to Master’s level or equivalent in a hard science, applied finance and business administration.
The position requires a deep understanding of how a quantitative investment business operates and successful candidates will have a proven track record demonstrating their quantitative investment understanding and business acumen.
Investment and Country management experience is essential for working in this position.
Deep experience and ability to recruit, train and mentor staff and monitor performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills.
To effectively manage operations, the Investment Director /Country Manager needs to have knowledge and experience of the sector our company operates within. You must fully understand Quantitative investment including machine learning and AI principles and their implementation.
This position will be based in Country, so experience of living abroad is desirable. You will also need to be sensitive to cultural differences.
Must be familiar with programming languages including, VBA, Python, C++, Mathematica and MATLAB.
A full clean driving licence.
