What’s in it for you
The Investment Director in EU will be a senior member of the Volvo Cars Tech Fund team and will be located in Gothenburg, with travel within EU and internationally. The role includes the responsibility for end-to-end sourcing, negotiation and execution of deals, as well as post-close oversight of on-going relationships. Your contribution to the innovation strategy of the company and the priorities of the inorganic growth strategy of Volvo Cars, as well as turning the strategy into reality, will be crucial. 

What you’ll do
* Partner internally with the various Businesses including Product, Innovation, Engineering, Commercial and others to understand and contribute to their strategies, evaluate specific opportunities, gain business sponsorship, and identify specific activities to deliver strategic value.
* Develop strategic themes and actionable investment thesis in areas of strategic relevance to Volvo Cars, in collaboration with the CEO and the Board.
* Leverage the external network including incubators to generate deal flow and relationships for Volvo Cars.
* Evaluate and conduct due diligence on specific opportunities to assess attractiveness and structure relationship.
* Communicate investment / partnership goals for each opportunity to the Tech Fund CEO & Board.
* Negotiate, structure & execute investments / partnerships, working with the Tech Fund CEO and the various business sponsors.
* Prepare decision materials and investment memos for Tech fund’s governing bodies, including Investment Committee and other investment advisory committees. 
* Oversee on-going relationships with portfolio companies and internal stakeholders to ensure successful collaboration and financial value for both Volvo Cars and the portfolio. companies, including serving as a Board Member or Board Observer, as needed.
* Represent Volvo Cars at various corporate venture capital, investment, and innovation conferences and topical industry events.

You are a true business developer, influential with negotiation and investment skills. It’s needed that you have extensive working experience from relevant areas.

On a personal level you are a self-motivated initiator, whilst being a team player. And finally, you need to be excellent at working and writing in English.
