The role of Volvo Group Venture Capital is to identify and drive investments with innovative companies at the forefront of service orientation and product differentiation. Our focus is on areas with disruptive innovation in Logistics Services, Site Solutions and Electric Infrastructure, resulting in new solutions improving the profitability of our customers and enabling new business opportunities for the Volvo Group.


Volvo Group Venture Capital is part of Volvo Group Connected Solutions which lead the development of the Volvo Group’s connected services and solutions. You will report to the head of Volvo Group Venture Capital and be part of the investment team.


Key Responsibilities
As Investment Director of Volvo Group Venture Capital, your key responsibilities are:
Convert technology and business model trends into actionable insights
Identify and analyze potential investments in our selected focus areas (Logistics Services, Site Solutions and Electric Infrastructure)
Design investment strategies and make investments
Develop the portfolio companies through board and advisory group activities
Develop new business – together with the investment team and Volvo Group colleagues, the task is to manage value creation between the Volvo Group, customers and our portfolio companies

Competence Profile & Qualifications


We believe you have experience from:
Equity investments and partnerships. You have experience in investments and related partnership activities.
Development of business in the commercial transport and industrial solutions industry. You have an interest in the intersection between technology, transportation/infrastructure and new business models.
Managing ambiguity. You feel comfortable handling situations not having the complete picture, and where the perspectives and inputs are multiple
Fact-based and structured analysis. You are structured and have strong problem solving skills and the ability to frame and develop an approach to solve strategic or operational issues.
Inspire & Communicate. You are a social person who enjoys working with others in flexible team constellations. You are good at building relationships and also has great networking capabilities.
Focus area expertise. Our investment strategy revolves around new opportunities arising within the three focus areas Logistics Services, Site Solutions and Electric Infrastructure. Therefore, experience from business development, investing and/or service and software- based business models within these areas are considered a merit.



You have a Master’s degree or equivalent as the basis for your career, and 5+ years of relevant experience from investing and business development. You are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit. In prioritizing candidates, we will pay attention to matching your profile to team culture, experience, gender and spirit. The successful candidate will have shown a winning attitude and great persona in combination with a strong track record and references.


Location & Timeline
The position is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Regular travel is expected. The final date of sending your application is 21st of December.
