Volvo Personvagnars Pensionsstiftelse (VPPS) is the Swedish pension trust, with about SEK 10 billion in assets under management. The Investment Manager of VPPS belong to Volvo Car Pension Management (VCPM) which is a small, specialized team within Global Finance providing expertise and guidance within the pension asset and liability area. What you will do
As Investment Manager for VPPS you will be responsible for the management of the assets in the Swedish pension trust. The assets are invested in equity-, fixed income and alternative investment funds managed by external fund managers. You will be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to the portfolio, evaluation of prospective investments and for the relationship with our current fund managers and bank counterparties. 

As part of the job you will continuously review the portfolio and monitor adherence of managers to the different expected asset class investment results. You will stay up-to-date about the macroeconomic environment and financial markets, assess and interpret complex financial information and make structured financial recommendations and decisions related to the portfolio. You will create documentation of high quality in which analysis, results and recommendations are clearly communicated.

You will also closely follow the ESG work of counterparties and keep an open dialogue in order to ensure that the investments held by the VPPS are in line with the sustainability ambitions and demands of Volvo Cars. 

Competence and experience are important, but personality and potential are key
We are looking for a highly ambitious, reliable person with an analytical mindset and a solid background in the asset management field. Great attention to detail and the ability to make sound judgement calls are also important skills. You have previous experience from management of different asset classes, manager and fund selections, and performing operational and financial analysis of investment opportunities. 

We believe that you have considerable knowledge of investment concepts, terminology, styles, models, and strategies, including portfolio theory, asset liability studies, asset allocation and performance measurement, and a solid understanding of capital markets. You have experience from analyzing and evaluating risk and performance of investment managers across equity, fixed income, hedge fund, private equity and real asset strategies. You have good knowledge of statistical concepts, methods, and models, and their application to investments. Skills in planning, organizing and prioritizing work assignments, and in completing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy is of high importance, as this is a role with high level of independence in the daily work. 

To succeed in this role, being a true team player is of key importance. Being people-oriented and cooperating with other team members to get things done is necessary, as is the ability to collaborate, discuss with and present to groups with varied levels of finance and investment knowledge. In this role you will work closely together with other departments within Global Finance, such as Treasury and Corporate Finance. You are skilled in verbal and/or written communication of complex information that is accurate, timely and based on sound judgment.

We especially want to point out that sustainability and the ESG aspects of fund management is of great importance for us at Volvo Cars, and previous experience from this field is desirable. Previous experience from corporate pension asset management or external fund manager (bank, insurance company, etc.) is also beneficial. 

We believe that you have an academic degree in Finance, Business Administration or Engineering.
