What you'll be up to at Blocket:

Together with the team, you’ll work on both new features and maintenance, to continuously modernise the Blocket experience. In this awesome team, Discovery within the Buyer Experience area, you will focus on creating a smooth and frictionless search experience for our users while browsing for their next find. Pretty cool, right? You will work closely together with the Android, Web and Backend developers within the team.

We work in Swift on iOS and strive to write maintainable, clear code that is testable, and we use continuous integration and code reviews to ensure we get it right.

Our apps have undergone many design and technical revisions. When we see a new technology or pattern that may benefit our apps and product we don't hesitate to become early adopters and position ourselves ahead of the curve.

Who you are:

You are an experienced developer with proven hands-on experience in iOS development working in a team. You are able to independently lead the development of new features and enjoy discussing and debating code and solutions with your peers. You like sharing your knowledge with your team and junior developers, and above all, you are proactive and continuously strive to learn new things.

Your skills:

- You know how to code in Swift and SwiftUI (knowing Objective-C is a plus)
- You know how to write clean, testable, simple and scalable code
- You have a good understanding of Apple frameworks and guidelines
- You understand the unique needs of an iOS user
- Above all, you are a great team player

My name is Ellinor and I will be your manager, I have worked with tech and people for 15 years. I prefer the agile way of working with a focus on teams and people, who together create products with the customer at the center. Our team works with the buying journey at Blocket and focuses on search, listing and products pages. We believe that is the most fun area on Blocket! Come join us!

The Blocket journey began in Skåne 1996 - since then the concept of Blocket has been exported to over 40 other countries. Today, Blocket, which is owned by the media group Schibsted, is Sweden’s largest online marketplace. There are approximately 600 000 items, vehicles, jobs and housing being advertised and discovered by its 5 million visitors every week. The value for all advertisements in 2018 amounted to SEK 714 billion - equal to 15 percent of Sweden’s GDP. Thanks to second-hand trading at Blocket, 0.8 million tonnes of greenhouse gases can be avoided every year. The output being equivalent to if Stockholm’s city roads stood empty for about a year.
