Our Exciting Opportunity
We are now looking for an IP Network Architect to join our team. This position is a part of Shared Telecom Services (STS) which is a program with the purpose to provide telecom test environments for Ericsson globally. We deliver our services to a multitude of internal user ranging from R&D organizations to regional customer service and sales organizations. We are currently 50 persons located in Gothenburg and 120 in the whole STS program. The IP Network Architect scope covers the whole IP network from solution design, implementation, operation, and security. The network team within the program is responsible for the infrastructures that enable development, test, learning and showcasing of Ericsson products and solutions.
Focus is on the IP network solutions around IT and telecom, but it’s not limited to these areas. These networks include central infrastructures as well as shared and dedicated test environments. The work is mainly focused on IP architecture, routers, switches and firewalls, but products like traffic generators, packet monitoring, WiFi and network monitoring systems and more is also part of the work description. Different networking vendors are used in the environments; Ericsson’s own products as well as the big vendors in the networking world. The daily work includes analysis of requirements into design and implementation, building new as well as changing existing networks. The work is performed in teams working in agile influenced processes - cross both organizational and geographical borders. You will be working hands-on with IP networking and security solutions for telecom environments. Finally, you will be expected to engage in how we constantly can improve our services in terms of efficiency, quality and technology.
To be successful in the role you should have
You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Systems including Network Technologies.
You are self-motivated, with the drive to solve problems and expand your knowledge
You enjoy working in teams, with people from various disciplines and you can communicate with others in English.
You are experienced within IP networking and security, at least with CCNP certificate level or equal. Experience within Telecom, Service Provider or large-scale Datacenter networks is a great advantage.
You are used to working with, and have deep knowledge about routers, switches and firewalls from different vendors in live environments and understand what it means to operate live networks with many users.
You are used to working with Linux based operating systems and preferably you have worked with various virtualization platforms.
Automation in the form of scripting, using e.g. Python, is something you are interested in.
