The International School of the Gothenburg Region (ISGR) is a prominent international school, offering the full International Baccalaureate continuum of learning through three programs: PYP K-5; MYP 6-10; and IB Diploma Program 11 & 12. The Position:
· Science teacher for our IB Middle Years Programme (Grades 6-10) for a 100% permanent position, starting 9th August 2021.
· Seeking someone who can teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of the curriculum
· Communicate regularly with parents and other colleagues
· Be an active and positive contributing member of the school’s teaching staff
· Participate fully in the wider school programme (Personal Projects, Service Learning, Interdisciplinary Learning, etc.)
· Actively contribute to the operational needs of the school
Qualifications & Experiences
· Hold a recognized teaching qualification
· Academic qualification(s) in the subject taught (at least a Bachelor’s Degree)
· Experience as a teacher
· Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
· The ability to establish good working relationships with adults and students
· The ability to work effectively in a team
· The ability to work effectively under pressure and to deal with change
· The ability to show personal and professional initiative and to work independently
· Be open-minded and willing to see yourself as a Learner as well as a teacher
· Have ideally had previous experience of teaching one of the IB Programmes
· Experience of working with students from diverse cultures and language backgrounds
