Great! Volvo Group is now searching for a IT Architect for the application PTC ThingWorx – Virtual Lifecycle Management that is CAD, PDM, XR Solutions Portfolio. The solution supports research and product development processes CAD, PDM and Visualisation with COTS and Inhouse solutions are involved.

Volvo is driving a number of exciting projects to support our internal business stakeholders in digitalizing their business processes and leverage the value of data and content. We are Virtual Lifecycle Management Solution Centre within RnDP SDU working to increase efficiency through our current set of applications and modern solutions. Our existing solution and service offerings to the Group Product design and development business in Volvo Group comprises of a mixture of varied technologies Microsoft, Java, Mainframe and Off the shelf IT solutions PTC, Dassault and Other COTS & Inhouse Solutions. We find ourselves on the cusp of a transformation with heavy investments to transform our existing portfolio to buy standard off the shelf IT solutions and services. We also manage Product data management and vaulting, CAD conversion engines and microservices based in-house systems, dabble
with RPA and data analysis and very curious about how technology can add value to our business.


Role Description Your Mission:


As a Thingworx – IT Architect , your primary mission will be technological watch, Proof of Concepts , pre-studies & implementation:


Active contribution to incoming pre-studies on strategical projects
Lead the implementation, validation and deployment of ThingWorx Solutions
You will work closely with the Delivery manager and Business Owner, securing the deliveries related to the application and with the vendor.
Create/enhance ThingWorx implementation’s standards for Volvo Group Trucks.
Active participation in IT Architectural working group



You second principal mission will be to work on projects and maintenance:


You will be responsible for the design of ThingWorx applications following Volvo and PTC best practices and roadmap and Volvo Group architectural frameworks
You must combine and match business needs with Volvo solutions, as part of a project team



Who Are You
 
Experience leading the implementation, validation and deployment of scalable, commercial ThingWorx solutions (ThingWorx Navigate / Vuforia)
Experience with ThingWorx service and mashup development and integration of ThingWorx with Windchill or other systems
Experience in ThingWorx platform setup and infra map
Competency in object oriented development patterns in Java /.NET
Competency in modern integration standards like RESTful and SOAP Web Services, message-oriented-middleware (MQ)
General knowledge of Agile and SDLC software development practices and technical documentation (requirements, functional specifications, test plans, etc.)


Graduated with a university degree or an engineer school in IT and have strong knowledge in IT architecture
You have a good knowledge also of the latest CAD and PDM innovations
Good understanding of Core Engineering change processes
You have architecture trainings and you understand architecture principles.
You are able to integrate all architecture disciplines (Process, Data, Application, Integration, Technology, Security) and advise on functional and technical approach for all systems integrating to ThingWorx platform
You have a sound knowledge in CAD/PDM projects and project roles.
You are comfortable in discussing with your business partners. You have good presentation skills (written and verbal).
You are able to assess and manage IT risks and issues
You must speak English fluently



We expect you to be curious, have great problem-solving skills and to have a genuine interest in IT.
Some travels are required abroad occasionally
