We are now looking for a IT Architect for Workplace & Collaboration Services
In the role as IT Architect you will be reporting to the Head of Workplace & Collaboration Services in close collaboration with mainly our outsourcing partner and Volvo Group Enterprise IT Security department. The services in the area are:
Workplace
Office client
MyPlace, the standardized workplace service for office users
MyPlace Anywhere, the MyPlace service in a virtual setup
Volvo Basic Clients, a lightly managed client services for engineers and system developers
Mobile Office, the standardized service for smartphones and tablets
Server Based Computing, the service for our published applications
Conventional applications, a portfolio of around 200 COTS applications used by the services in the area
Office Equipment catalogue, standardized hardware to be used in the service area
Industrial client
Factory Place, the Volvo Group standardized workplace service for production and engineering applications
Factory Mobile Client, for handheld devices used in production applications
Industrial Equipment catalogue, standardized hardware to be used in the service area
Collaboration
O365 area
Video Conferencing
Output
Managed Print Services, the standardized output service
Application Printing
Telephony
Fixed/mobile/soft phones
Peter connect /Live attendant

Role mission & context
In close relationship with the partner(s) and in alignment with the overall Volvo Group target architecture, you will identify, design and enforce architectural choices that can support Volvo Group long term strategy, while on the other hand preventing architectural choices that can be an obstacle to it. You will work within the End User Services subportfolio. This together with the Service Area Leaders, Service Delivery Leaders and the IT Architect for EUS & Core. You will work closely with other IOS teams, our main partner’s Architecture teams as well as other Volvo Group IT units and departements.
Key responsibilities
Owner and responsible for the End User Services Workplace & Collaboration architecture
Establish and maintain the long term architecture for the sub portfolio(s), aligned with and based on EUS & Core target architecture and the sub portfolio roadmap(s)
Secure and manage infrastructure Portfolio technical standards and contribute to related processes and forums
Securing infrastructure architecture compliance with corporate standards and directives
Contribute to service development or enhancement projects initiated by IOS Management to ensure architecture support, requirement gathering and breakdown, compliance, consistency and certification
Contribute to development of guidelines, methods and frameworks
Ensure documentation of the architecture landscape for the area of responsibility
Be part of and contribute to the IOS Architecture Office
Work closely with architects from other IOS teams and our partner’s architecture teams in order to make sure that the underlying architecture, infrastructure services and technical decisions supporting end users services needs and SLAs
Collaborate with our main partner/infrastructure provider and external IT suppliers
General skills required
A strong personality and communicator
Strong English written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
Ability to meet the agreed targets, deadlines and goals without direct, day-to-day supervision
Ability to work in an international team with colleagues that have diverse cultural backgrounds
Additional competencies and experience required
Very strong competence and experience from the end user services area, including services both for office workers as well as a task specific workers in industrial and engineering contexts
Strong competence and experience in designing and managing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions
Strong competence and experience of modern application and cloud solution architecture
Competence and experience in cyber security and EUS architecture
Experience with enterprise automation and orchestration
Experience from using frameworks like TOGAF, ITIL, ISIF and modelling architecture using UML and ArchiMate standards
