ABOUT OREXO

Orexo is a specialty pharmaceutical company commercializing its proprietary product Zubsolv® for treatment of opioid dependence in the US. Zubsolv is an advanced formulation of buprenorphine and naloxone using Orexo’s unique knowledge and expertise in sublingual drug delivery. R&D is focusing on reformulation of known substances to new improved products that meet great unmet medical needs by using its patented proprietary technologies. Orexo’s share is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Exchange Mid Cap (STO: ORX) and is available as ADRs on OTCQX (ORXOY) in the US. Orexo’s global headquarters and R&D are based in Uppsala, Sweden. Right now we are looking for someone to join our team as Orexo’s IT Director.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The IT Director is overall responsible for IT from developing the company’s IT strategy to implementation while ensuring a constantly smooth and efficient IT operations. The IT Director will be directly responsible for relevant IT projects and will work together with external partners in the day to day management of the IT infrastructure and applications.

The role is reporting to the EVP/CFO who also is the Head of Business Support where the role is positioned.
Other specific responsibilities

* Lead the IT Governance board to manage IT services demands from the organization.

* Support business strategy by managing the development and implementation of IT initiatives.

* Provide high-quality services at optimal cost.

* Mitigate disruptions of change.

* Head of the IT Disaster Recovery Process.

* Follow security alerts and provide safety awareness training to the users.

* Measure service performance and implement improvements as needed.

* Follow and analyze IT development trends.

* Develop and manage the IT budget.

* Ensure policies and other supporting documents are developed and implemented.

* Responsible for the company infrastructure in Sweden and the US (Morristown, NJ).

* Negotiate all company agreements related to IT.

* Ensure appropriate SLA’s are in place and that internal and external SLA's are met.

* Establishes measureable individual and team objectives that are aligned with business and organizational goals.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

* 3-5 years as a Manager or Director in an IT function.

* Relevant educational background, e.g. technical and/or ITIL, or equivalent Certifications.

* Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver IT project on time and within budget.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Must be self-motivated and work well with others in an integrated team environment.

* Experience in managing Service Desk.

* Experience in managing remote services.

* Experience in managing service contracts and vendor relationships.

* Experience working in complex companies, that heavily rely on real time 24x7 IT operations.

The right candidate needs to have a high level of integrity, engagement and flexibility, a sound balance of strategic thinking and operative capability and be comfortable taking own initiatives and working independently. Since a lot of the day-to-day activities means communicating with internal and/or external partners and clients in Sweden and the US, you also need to have excellent communication skills in Swedish and English (written and oral).

Since part of our business is located in the US, working hours can vary according to business needs.
