Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
In line with this Scania has decided to establish a third industrial hub close to Shanghai. The target is that this hub should be able to assemble Cabs and Chassis at the beginning of 2024. In order to realize the hub, we must establish an IT landscape supporting the business processes based on our reference architecture. Apart from this we will also be expanding our dealer network and integrate into the Chinese std services eco-system as needed by our business locally.
Your responsibilities as IT infrastructure lead engineer
A key part of your job is to technically secure the implementation of the needed infrastructure platforms and components in a timely and flexible manner for the ongoing dealer network expansion and implementation of the new factory. You will be working together with Central IT and local partners to follow guidelines and standards as well as to adapt to local needs/possibilities.
You will report to the IT manager on-site in Shanghai and be part of a global infrastructure team supporting you. Your role will also include the following key responsibilities.
• Together with other technical architects translate architectural designs into implementation plans
• Ensure services are integrated, delivered and operated as required
• Lead the work with infrastructure specialists and partners by managing, supporting, and maintaining solutions according to local and corporate policies and standards
• Provide input into overall management - workforce, budget, technology roadmaps, projects, and tasks
• Handle networks such as cloud, traditional hosting, digital workplace services, and security
Your profile as IT infrastructure lead engineer
We see you as a person taking pride in how you collaborate with your peers. You are appreciated for being open, constructive, and getting things done as planned. You love to learn and grow and take pride in sharing your skills and support your team members. Further, you have a pragmatic and sometimes entrepreneurial approach in order to move things forward.
The right candidate understands infrastructure on multiple levels and knows how to simplify and focus on what is needed to solve business problems. You understand the value of being business-centric rather than technology-centric in your approach, and at the same time keep your focus to ensure fully compliant and fully secure infrastructure services. There should also be interest in how to integrate new modern technology and adapt existing services to allow for this need. You have an academic degree within IT or engineering and are fluent in English both writing and oral. Working experience abroad is a plus but not required.
Skills for this role
Below are skills that are needed in your role. It’s not required to be able to fulfill them all from the start. Some you will mature in as you take on new tasks and will understand on a deeper level when needed:
• Client and Hosting technologies
• Cloud foundational services
• Identity and access
• Network and security
• Integration
• Information security and different types of security controls
• Problem management
Location: You will be stationed at Scania’s office in Shanghai China, and there will be some need to travel.
