The Tuve IT Community’s main purpose is to support the plant with IT related issues. This goes from fixing day-to-day incidents enabling the line to produce full speed, up to build the IT roadmap for the coming years. Our ambition is to solve problems and adds business value through IT and effective use of existing applications, new technologies and innovation. In short, we work with support, incident and problem management, continuous improvement, projects and requests management from our users. We cover the full scope of IT from Infrastructure operation, Applications support to Projects and implementation. Digitalization is a new focus and is an excellent opportunity for us to learn cool stuff and maybe even get smarter.
We are located in the plant as an integrated part of operations and in daily contact with our users. We contribute to reach the plant’s objectives.
The community is composed of Solution key users, Business Analysts, Solution and Delivery leaders, developers and support technicians from Group Digital & IT Solutions, Group Digital & IT IOS, GTO Tuve and GTO Digital & IT. Your role belongs line wise to the Group Digital & IT On Site organization. You are the line manager for the On Site support team composed of 6 Volvo employees, 2 external consultants and the IT luckan function.
Being responsible for IT in front of the plant demands us to be extremely good in working with different networks within Group Digital & IT and GTO. We need to understand our users and stay updated regarding existing and new IT services.
This is how you could have an impact
As IT Onsite Manager, your main goal is to deliver an efficient support organization to the factory that allows reaching the 0 minutes line stop vision. You take the full ownership of IT issues, solutions and equipment related and make sure that we cross functionally work with problem management following the factory’s tools and standard.
You secure that the IT equipment and IT infrastructure in the plant are up-to-date and support operations.
You represent IT in the daily operations meetings in the plant and contribute to increase the IT performance.
Your main responsibilities:
Deliver a factory IT support that is in line with the plant’s needs and expectations and continuously improve it. Be the main interface to other organizations (remote help desk if applicable, service management, application support teams, HCL…)
Manage the demand for infrastructure and IT equipment
Promote digital Solutions and new existing services in IT infrastructure provided by Group IT and/ or external providers
Responsible for the budget and costs in your scope of responsibility
Follow up and secure that the mandatory IT principles defined within the Volvo Group are followed
Work close to the users, contribute to the factory’s challenges, take part of Kaizen events, projects etc.
Take full ownership of incidents and problem management (QRIT-Quick Response IT) – work towards 0 line stop vision – manage the communication to the factory
Support industrial projects from hardware and infra perspective
Develop / Provide competences needed to support the digitalization journey – Cyber Security, communication with industry equipment, ThingWorx…

Skills and experience? Ideally, you have most of this, maybe less, and probably something more:
VPS, continuous improvement experience
Leadership in a network - Line manager experience
Experience from manufacturing
Interest in the end users’ needs regarding IT
Interest in IT infrastructure and new technology
Good level of English, written and spoken
